Mature Services, Inc. of Akron Sponsors RSVP Volunteer Appreciation Event to be Held on May 12, 2016

Over 200 RSVP volunteers to be honored at luncheon on May 12, 2016

Akron: The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Summit and Medina Counties invites you to our 45th Annual Volunteer Appreciation Lunch sponsored by Mature Services, Inc. honoring volunteers by a “Hats Off to You” theme, the event will be held Thursday, May 12 at 11:00 am, at Guy’s Party Center, 500 East Waterloo Road in Akron, Ohio.

An exciting and fun luncheon is planned, featuring Leslie Parker Barnes. The founder and director of Youth Excellence Performing Arts Workshop, she will address nearly 200 volunteers, 55 and older, who served our community in 2015. Ms. Barnes will discuss the value of volunteerism and its impact upon our communities. An award-winning community leader, Ms. Barnes received The Margaret Clark Morgan Foundations Impact Award in 2012 for her dedication, vision, and commitment to excellence.

Help us celebrate our “Hats Off to You” theme: Wear your favorite hat and participate in our “Best Hat of the Day” contest. You might win a prize! Reservations are required for the event, which is free for RSVP members. Non-volunteers may purchase tickets in advance for $15.00 or tickets will be available for $20.00 at the door. RSVP’s mission is to provide diverse volunteer opportunities for people 55 and older. The volunteer program supports older Americans who wish to remain active and make a difference in their communities.
