Senior Community Service Employment Program

For over 40 years, VANTAGE Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) has connected older adults to employment by offering job training and placement to low-income adults age 55 and older. The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP), funded by the U.S. Department of Labor, Ohio Department of Aging, and Indiana Department of Workforce Development.

SCSEP promotes the self-sufficiency of older workers. We connect low-income, unemployed adults, age 55 and older to paid job training. Job training takes place at community-based and government agencies. These agencies are able to build their capacity with SCSEP support.

Who Uses the Senior Community Service Employment Program

  • Older adults who are talented, hard-working, professional, reliable, trained and willing to work in part-time, paid job training opportunities with the SCSEP program.
  • Training Sites who are 501 (C)(3) non-profit agencies, community-based organizations or government agencies wishing to provide opportunities for work training while receiving support for their mission.
  • Private Sector Employers interested in filling open positions by providing on-the-job training for older adults, paid for by VANTAGE Aging, with the goal of hiring the employee.

Together, we can make a positive financial and emotional difference in the lives of thousands of people by improving the job-readiness of older adults while expanding services to the community.
