National Volunteer Month: A Look at VANTAGE RSVP

April is National Volunteer Month, when we celebrate the hard work of our volunteers and encourage others to better the community. During National Volunteer Month, people and organizations all across the country join together to recognize the impact of volunteerism.

The Volunteers

Volunteers play a vital role in creating strong and sustainable community. Their stories are inspiring and affect change. But, more important, their actions improve the lives of others.

Volunteering comes in all different shapes and sizes. Whether you lend a hand by rebuilding a home, teaching a child to read, or providing companionship to a homebound senior, your volunteer efforts make the difference.

How to participate in National Volunteer Month

No matter where you live, there are so many ways to volunteer. Communities have unique needs and often rely on the service of volunteers. You can use your experience, availability, location, and interests to decide which volunteer activity you want to participate in.

If you are at least 55 years old, consider joining the VANTAGE RSVP program. VANTAGE RSVP matches older adults to community programs in need of extra support based on your preferences. The program is offered in Summit, Medina, Wayne, Geauga, Franklin, Delaware, and Hamilton Counties.

Not 55 years old? With multiple programs supporting older adults, we are always looking for people who want to support VANTAGE and our mission to help older adults age in place. You can find out more on our Ways to Give page. Consider helping deliver more than just meals as a Meals On Wheels volunteer in Stark or Wayne County.
