What is Encore?
Encore Staffing Network is part of the Cleveland Foundation’s network of organizations that provide experienced Greater Clevelanders with an array of meaningful opportunities in the community. The initiative, called Encore Cleveland, is part of the Encore career movement, a national effort to leverage the energy and experience of Americans who want to fill community needs upon retirement or near the end of their primary careers.
By channeling the time, energy, and talents of experienced individuals into solving community challenges, Encore Staffing Network helps fill unmet needs in the community. Encores are paid for their time and can choose from a variety of unique opportunities. An encore career is a great option for those who want to continue working on their terms, start a new career later in life, or partially return to the workforce after retirement.
Encore Staffing Network is a social venture of VANTAGE Aging. VANTAGE is an Akron-based nonprofit serving 38 Ohio counties. The organization promotes positive aging through wraparound programs and services, including home-delivered meals, small supports to help seniors age in place at home, counseling that specializes in older adults, volunteering, and a job training program for adults age 55 and older.
As a social venture, funds raised through Encore are funneled back into the nonprofit’s mission, creating an even greater impact in the lives of seniors in need.
