Online Voting Now Open for Mature Services’ SOAR Online Community Awards

Summit Oscars for Aging Resources (SOAR) Awards: Honoring the Top Agencies, Organizations, and Leaders Who Care About Aging Successfully in Summit County

Akron, Ohio (March 31, 2016) – Online voting is now open to determine which businesses are supporting the aging population of Summit County.

The award is part of the inaugural SOAR awards celebration to be held May 23, 2017, at the Tangier in Akron, when winners will be announced. The competition aims to recognize local organizations that strive to make positive changes in support of successful aging in our community.

Karen Hrdlicka, President and CEO for the not-for-profit headquartered in Akron, said: “The response to the award concept has been very positive. Summit County has been responding to the needs of an aging population, but there is still a lot of work to do to care for all of us as we age. We cannot sweep aging issues under the rug and the SOAR Awards will place a spotlight on the positive impacts businesses, communities, and leaders are having on one of the fastest growing populations in Summit County. Recognition will help to raise awareness about pressing issues facing all of us as we age that need attention and encourage businesses to pursue age-friendly cultures.”

With the deadline fast approaching, there are just a few weeks remaining in which to make your voice heard at the SOAR awards. The community is invited to place votes online through May 1st, 2017 at 5pm for the following nominees in the Online Community Awards categories:
