Akron, OH (December 20, 2019) – VANTAGE Aging’s Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is hosting two volunteer fairs for Summit and Medina Counties, respectively, on January 15, 2020.
Medina County organizations and community members are invited to attend the Medina Volunteer Fair from 10:00AM – 12:00PM at the Medina County University Center (6300 Technology Lane, Medina, OH 44256). Summit County organizations and community members are invited to attend the Summit Volunteer Fair from 4:30-6:30PM at VANTAGE Aging (2279 Romig Road, Akron, OH 44320).
Individuals interested in attending can plan to learn more about the volunteer opportunities available in their areas, and how they can get involved to help support their communities.
“Volunteering more is one of the top New Year’s Resolutions” said Erica Banks, Director of RSVP at VANTAGE Aging. “What better way to jumpstart the year than by getting involved with organizations near you and making a difference in 2020.”
In addition to individuals looking to attend, RSVP welcomes community organizations from Summit and Medina Counties to register for their respective volunteer fairs. There is a $25 participation fee, and the deadline to register is January 10,2020. To register and secure a spot, please contact Erica Banks at ebanks@vantageaging.org or 330-253-4597 ext. 166. Current volunteer stations may attend for free, but must still register to ensure a space.
RSVP is one of the largest volunteer networks in the nation for individuals over age 55, and it helps link its volunteers with nonprofit agencies where their time, interest, talents, knowledge, and experience are most effectively utilized to meet important needs in the community. To learn more, individuals are encouraged to attend this open-to-the-public event, or view a complete listing of RSVP opportunities on vantageaging.org/programs-and-services/rsvp/volunteer-opportunities/.
“We currently have more than 300 volunteers, but we are always looking for more,” said Banks. “If you live in Medina or Summit County and are over age 55, then this is the ideal way for you to connect with your community and give back through meaningful volunteer opportunities.”
