Meals on Wheels Events

For over ten years participating Meals on Wheels America members, like VANTAGE Meals on Wheels have been provided an opportunity to receive a share of the revenue raised by Subaru in their state. The shares help local Meals on Wheels continue its mission to fight hunger and isolation among our nation’s homebound seniors.

In 2017, Subaru marked its 50th anniversary in the U.S. For the second year in a row, there will be no cap on the total donation from Subaru of America to its Share the Love charitable partners. During the 2016 campaign, VANTAGE Meals on Wheels was awarded over $6,000 to support our program.

By purchasing or leasing a new Subaru during the Event and selecting Meals on Wheels America as your charity of choice, you can help deliver nutritious meals and other important services to seniors right here in Summit County.

“It is part of our culture at Subaru to support causes important to our employees, retailers and owners and we are proud to have continued that tradition for ten consecutive years,” said Alan Bethke, senior vice president of marketing, Subaru of America Inc. “Through the Share the Love event, we are excited to continue our commitment to support our national and hometown charity partners and aim to donate $115 million in total by the end of this year’s campaign.”

During March for Meals, we invite local, state and federal officials, local celebrities and other prominent community figures to deliver meals, speak out for seniors and raise awareness for the power of their work. The annual March for Meals celebration commemorates the historic day in March of 1972 when President Nixon signed into law a measure that amended the Older Americans Act of 1965 to include a national nutrition program for seniors 60 years and older. Inadequate federal funding in Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 could have a devastating impact on Meals on Wheels programs and the seniors you serve. We’ve relaunched the previously successful #SaveLunch campaign to ensure Congress knows just how effective your programs are and the difference you make in your communities every day. The #SaveLunch campaign includes activities and resources to enable all of us – local programs, the seniors you serve, the general public and Meals on Wheels America – to act collaboratively and amplify our collective efforts.
