Our Services

Meals on Wheels of Northeast Ohio provides much more than a meal. Each year, we partner with friendly local volunteers to deliver more than 250,000 meals – and meaningful social connections – to 2,000 aging neighbors in our community.

Our services support health, well-being, and independence through nutritious meals and regular contact with caring volunteers and staff. Home-delivered meals offer an easy, convenient way to support wellness at home.

There are no eligibility requirements to receive services. Our Client Care Specialists work to understand each person’s needs and identify available financial support options.

Nutritious Meals, Friendly Visits & Safety Checks at Each Delivery

Every delivery provides more than a nutritious meal. It also offers an opportunity for connection and a brief check on each client’s well-being.

Enrolled clients may also receive help with some pet food needs. Ask our team for details.

Our Friendly Visits

Meals are delivered by consistent local volunteers and staff who get to know the people on their routes.

Each delivery offers an opportunity for a friendly visit – a familiar face, a brief conversation, and a welcoming connection that can help reduce isolation and brighten someone’s day.

Our Safety Checks

Every delivery also provides an important opportunity to check on a client’s well-being.

Because meals are handed directly to the client or their caregiver, our volunteers and staff can notice changes in a client’s appearance or the home environment. Our volunteers and staff are trained to recognize potential concerns.

If a client does not answer the door or a volunteer or staff member notices something concerning, our Client Care team is notified immediately through our electronic delivery system. The team follows up to confirm the client’s well-being and determine whether an emergency contact should be notified.
