2025 Mascot vs Mascot Pet Food Drive

Canton McKinley Bulldogs and Massillon Tigers Compete in Rivalry Donation Drive for Meals On Wheels’ Wheels for Wags Program

Stark County, OH (September 18, 2025): The rivalry between Washington High School’s Massillon Tigers and Canton McKinley High School’s Bulldogs is back, but this year, it’s not just on the field. In addition to their nearly 130-year football tradition, the two schools are once again going head-to-head in a competitive donation drive for Meals On Wheels of Northeast Ohio’s Wheels for Wags program, running through October 23, 2025.

The Tigers are calling on supporters to bring in cat food donations, while the Bulldogs are rallying fans for dog food contributions. Donations can be dropped off at the following locations:

  • Massillon Ticket Office: 1 Paul E. Brown Dr SE, Massillon, OH 44646
  • McKinley Field House: 2323 17th St. NW, Canton, OH 44708
  • Meals on Wheels of Northeast Ohio: 2363 Nave Rd SE, Massillon, OH 44646
  • All Canton City School District Building Locations

All items collected will directly support the Wheels for Wags program, which provides free pet food to the beloved pets of homebound seniors who are Meals on Wheels clients. Meals on Wheels NEO, a program of VANTAGE Aging, delivers over 300,000 meals each year across Stark, Summit, Wayne, Tuscarawas, Holmes, Carroll, and Portage counties, serving seniors and people with disabilities.

“This friendly rivalry highlights the heart of both communities,” said Kim Ventresca, CEO of VANTAGE Aging. “Every donation helps ensure older adults can keep their cherished pets at home, providing companionship and comfort.”

The winning team in this year’s drive will be announced at halftime of the Massillon-McKinley football game on October 25, 2025, at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton.
