Help seniors in our community during 65-hour online giving event

(Akron, OH) July 13, 2020 – COVID-19 has significantly impacted seniors in our community. Throughout this global pandemic, VANTAGE Aging continues to provide our services and programs to our senior clients because we know how important they are for their overall well-being. We’ve been able to adapt and determine new ways to help those in need, but in a safe and meaningful way. We rely heavily on the generous support of the Akron/Summit County community to continue to provide these programs and services that empower seniors to remain independent and to age with dignity.

From July 15 to 17, VANTAGE aging is participating in the fifth-annual GIVE65 Event, a 65-hour online giving event presented by the Home Instead Senior Care Foundation, and the only online fundraising platform exclusively for senior serving organizations. This year, we’re raising funds for providing small supports that help local seniors stay safe at home. Gifts can be made on our GIVE65 campaign page https://www.give65.org/vantageaging.

During the GIVE65 Event, VANTAGE Aging is also raising funds with the hopes of receiving up to $5,000 in matching funds from the Home Instead Senior Care Foundation. This helps amplify the generosity of our donors who help fuel our mission.

“GIVE65 allows us to help seniors in our community while raising awareness of the critical need for the programs and services that so many rely on,” said Ted Watko, CEO.

The 65-hour GIVE65 Event begins at 5 a.m. CDT on Wednesday, July 15, and concludes at 10:00 p.m. on July 17.

“COVID-19 has really highlighted the challenges seniors face on a daily basis. Supporting seniors and providing them the tools to define their own aging journey is always important, but particularly during a global pandemic. We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with VANTAGE Aging for the fifth-annual GIVE65 Event, and hope that our partnership will inspire greater charitable giving in support of seniors who rely on the very important work of the nonprofit sector,” says Lenli Corbett, executive director of the Home Instead Senior Care Foundation.
