(August 2022 –Akron, OH): On Friday, August 12, 2022, Akron-based nonprofit VANTAGE Aging’s Board of Directors accepted the resignation of CEO Ted Watko effective immediately.
Watko’s eight years of service include five years as CEO of Meals on Wheels of Stark and Wayne Counties and two years as CEO of VANTAGE Aging. His leadership and direction led Vantage Aging through the pandemic and resulted in many positive outcomes for the organization.
“On behalf of Vantage’s Board of Directors, I would like to express my appreciation to Ted Watko for his service to our organization and wish him success in future endeavors,” said Chairman Leann Schaeffer.
The Executive Committee of Vantage’s Board of Directors will be fulfilling the interim CEO role and conducting an external search for a replacement immediately.
Vantage Aging is a 501c3 nonprofit that provides paid, hands-on job training to job seekers 55 and older, home delivered meals through Meals On Wheels, home wellness solutions and home cleaning services for homebound seniors, and the AmeriCorps Seniors volunteer program. The agency is in a strong position to continue transforming its programs and improving the lives of seniors through this transition.
