Vantage Aging brings experience in helping older job seekers to Indiana. Virtual Workshops for Older Adults Scheduled
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
VANTAGE Aging becomes the sole subrecipient of the Indiana Department of Workforce Development’s Senior Community Service Employment Program, expanding service areas across two states
VANTAGE Aging has expanded into 37 Indiana counties to help empower older job seekers with the tools they need to succeed in today’s job market. Indiana job seekers age 55 and older in these locations can gain experience through paid, hands-on training that enhances existing skills and strengthens resumes.
Through a robust RFP process, The Indiana Department of Workforce Development decided to transition the local administration of their Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) to Vantage Aging. Vantage now administers SCSEP in 75 counties across two states under three separate grants from the Department of Labor (DOL), Ohio Department of Aging (ODA), and Indiana Department of Workforce Development (IDWD).
Vantage Aging, a 501c3 nonprofit, provides these services through the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP). SCSEP is a federally funded program for income-eligible individuals who are 55 and older looking to re-enter the workforce. Participants provide valuable services in nonprofit and government organizations while gaining new skills and opportunities to make them more competitive in the job market. Vantage has provided job training and placement services in Ohio since 1975. The agency’s leadership and staff are dedicated to training, supporting, and empowering the older adult workforce.
“At Vantage, we are deeply committed to empowering job seekers 55 and older adults by providing opportunities to develop the essential skills needed to thrive in today’s job market,” shared Vantage CEO Kim Ventresca.” We look forward to extending our impact in Indiana and continuing our legacy of making a positive difference in the lives of older job seekers.”
Beginning in October, Vantage will offer monthly virtual workshops on various topics related to helping older adults reenter the workforce. All presentations will be held the second Thursday of each month at 10 A.M. EST. Seniors can preregister to receive a link or watch the presentations on Facebook Live. The upcoming workshops are as follows:
