During AmeriCorps Week, we recognize the millions of Americans who have chosen to serve their country through AmeriCorps and AmeriCorps Seniors, and encourage more Americans to follow in their footsteps in service.
This year’s theme is ‘Together, we are AmeriCorps’
Service brings people together and bridges divides, and that’s what AmeriCorps members, volunteers, and programs do every day.
What is AmeriCorps?
AmeriCorps, the federal agency for volunteerism and national service, provides opportunities for Americans to serve their country domestically, address the nation’s most pressing challenges, improve lives and communities, and strengthen civic engagement. Each year, the agency invests more than $800 million in grants for local nonprofit, community, tribal, and state organizations; places more than 250,000 AmeriCorps members and AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers in intensive service roles; and empowers millions more to serve as long-term, short-term, or one-time volunteers. Learn more at AmeriCorps.gov.
AmeriCorps engages 250,000 Americans each year in sustained, results-driven service through our AmeriCorps and AmeriCorps Seniors programs.
AmeriCorps Seniors – Retired and Senior Volunteer Program
AmeriCorps Seniors’ Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) connects volunteers age 55 and older with opportunities to serve their community.
As the nation’s largest volunteer network for people 55 plus, RSVP matches older Americans with organizations where your time, interests, and experience make a meaningful impact in their communities.
Volunteers choose how and where they want to serve, how much time they want to give, and whether they want to share skills they already have or develop new ones.
Vantage’s RSVP program serves seven Ohio counties, including Summit, Medina, Geauga, Wayne, Franklin, Delaware, and Hamilton. We partner with local agencies to connect them with older adults who want to make a difference in the communities where they live and work.
Thank you, AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers!
This AmeriCorps Week, we’re thrilled to thank the AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers who step up and show up for our communities. Every day, they’re fighting food insecurity, combatting senior isolation, inspiring the next generation, and so much more!
Here are just a few pictures of some of our amazing volunteers. Thank you for all that you do!
