Give $25 to keep meals moving! |
| We need your help to raise $4,000 by Sept. 30.
Meals on Wheels does more than deliver a meal. We ensure that neighbors have access to nutritious meals while also providing a familiar face and a connection to their community. To keep those meals moving safely, we need 160 new insulated coolers. Your $25 gift buys one cooler and helps ensure a hot meal stays hot and a cold meal stays cold. |

RSVP volunteer starts free legal clinic at ACCESS |

Tom Mussara is a retired attorney who has been volunteering through Vantage Aging’s AmeriCorps Seniors Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) for more than four years. He enjoys supporting a variety of nonprofit organizations, including ACCESS, Inc., an emergency shelter serving women and children.
While volunteering at ACCESS, Tom recognized a need for legal assistance among the women staying at the shelter. He reached out to Community Legal Aid, an organization that provides legal advocacy and assistance to individuals experiencing poverty and helped establish a free legal clinic at the shelter. Through his initiative and commitment to service, Tom is helping ensure that women at ACCESS have access to valuable legal resources and support. |

SCSEP turns the page on a tough year |
Program Year 2025 asked a lot of us. Between staff and participant furloughs and more turnover than we could have imagined, this was, without question, one of the toughest stretches our Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) team has faced. We share that openly because our community has always been part of this work and we wanted you to hear directly from us how we got through it. |
We're glad to say the page has turned. Our new program year began July 1, and we are now fully staffed for the first time in a long while, with our regional offices back to full strength and full energy.
We're also on a path of continuous improvement, including a project to automate the processing of the 500 to 600 participant timesheets we handle every two weeks. This will keep participants' paychecks moving smoothly and accurately, while freeing staff to focus on other priorities that strengthen the program.
In October, our whole SCSEP team will come together in person for a chance to refresh, regroup and share what we've learned, something last year's challenges didn't allow us to do. We're looking forward to reconnecting as one team.
Even through a difficult year, our results held strong. While final numbers are still being confirmed, preliminary performance data shows Vantage Aging achieving more than 92% of our performance measures in both of our SCSEP programs. In a year without challenges, these numbers would represent a strong program. Given everything our team navigated this year, they're remarkable.
We're moving into this new program year steadier, stronger and more committed than ever to the participants and communities we serve. Thank you for being part of this work with us! |
