VANTAGE Aging will remain open its normal business hours of 8:30-4:30, Monday through Friday. Please call 330-253-4597 if you have any questions.
— Starting 3/23/2020, the VANTAGE building will be closed. Phones will still be answered. Please call 330-253-4597 to enroll in services or ask questions.
Meals on Wheels
— New clients are being enrolled and will receive shelf-stable meals until the threat of the pandemic has passed. Please call 330-515-5605 to enroll in services.
— Meals on Wheels of Northeast Ohio will temporarily provide clients with 10-days’ worth of shelf-stable meals in replacement of hot and frozen meals. Shelf-stable packages reduce contact and the potential of food contamination.
— The last hot and frozen meals will be delivered on March 27, 2020. Shelf-stable meals will be provided every other week on the following dates between the hours of 8am and 5pm: March 26-28, April 8-10, April 22-24, May 6-8. Hot and frozen meals will resume by May 18, 2020.
— Volunteers are needed to help deliver shelf-stable meals. Special training for no-contact drop off and wellness check procedures will be provided.
— Reducing deliveries means that we will address wellness checks via phone.
— Meals on Wheels of Northeast Ohio has always followed the most stringent guidelines relating to food and personal safety. We have increased cleaning in high-touch areas to ensure the safest food preparation areas. We have introduced new protocols to prevent any direct contact between volunteers and clients.
— Per the recommendations of both the CDC and Governor DeWine, we served our last congregate meal on 3/16/20 and we are providing a 10 days supply of shelf-stable and frozen meals to those clients.
— We have ordered a 10 day supply of shelf-stable foods for all of our clients and are awaiting delivery. In the event that MOWNEO is required to shut down our kitchen, we will provide clients with these meals every 10 days until the crisis has passed.
— We will continue to keep the public notified via our website and social media channels as things unfold that impact our clients, volunteers, or staff. Clients will receive communications with their meal deliveries.
— If you are a caregiver and have any questions, please feel free to contact us at 1-800-466-8010.
Workforce Solutions (SCSEP)
There are three phases to SCSEP’s COVID-19 plan.
- Phase I: Paid Leave (March 20-April17)
- Phase II: Paid at-home training (Begins April 20)
- Phase III: Return to host agency assignments when emergency measures have been lifted by public officials.
— VANTAGE used the Temporary Sick Leave with Pay for the pay period 3/20/2020-4/3/2020, and will be doing a temporary leave with pay again for the upcoming pay period starting 4/6/2020 through 4/17/2020.
— The temporary Sick Leave with Pay policy will count toward a person’s Durational Limit. If at any point you would like to go on Leave without pay, contact Project Director.
— After April 17th, participants will transition to at-home paid training delivered by mail. VANTAGE will call to check in on participants and follow up with the training completed.
— During the week of March 30 through April 3, VANTAGE Aging will conduct phone calls to all SCSEP participants to provide updates and check in on their wellbeing. Missed calls must be returned in order for participants to be paid.

How You Can Help
Under normal circumstances, seniors are often homebound and hungry. Today, with the COVID-19 pandemic forcing so many to stay home, please remember Meals on Wheels of Northeast Ohio is still operating. We need your support so that no senior goes hungry.
Give Your Time
Somebody gets to be a hero today – is it you? Meals on Wheels of Northeast Ohio needs volunteers now more than ever to ensure no senior faces hunger.
We provide training and have safety protocols in place for our clients and volunteers. Delivering meals is a great way to get out of the house without having direct contact with seniors.
Sign up for a shift by calling 330-832-7220 or visiting our volunteer page.
Donate Your Money
Monetary donations will make a critical impact. Our goal is to provide 10 days worth of shelf-stable foods for all of our clients. In the event that we are unable to prepare our normal fresh meals, they will be fed through the nonperishable items provided through the generous support of the community.
Even a small amount helps ensure no senior is left hungry and alone. Please help us support the most vulnerable with a gift today.
Support Each Other
In the face of a crisis, we see the strength of our community coming together. As we take on the challenges that come with COVID-19, we will continue to work together to ensure no senior is left vulnerable to hunger, isolation, or illness.
The safety and health of our clients, volunteers, and staff is our highest priority. Please do your part by following the recommendations of the CDC for preventing illness.
