FOR VOLUNTEERS VANTAGE RSVP of Summit and Medina Counties can connect active older adults with multiple volunteer opportunities. Matching our communities’ needs to national objectives, our primary goals include supporting non-profits addressing food insecurity and helping to reduce senior isolation. Current volunteering options include:
The goal of the program is to address senior isolation. Compassion is the foundation of the RSVP TeleCare program. Whether you need a reassuring call from a volunteer or you want to volunteer to provide contact to homebound seniors, this program addresses social isolation and builds friendships.
CATCH Kids Club
A program designed to engage elementary school-aged children in practicing healthy eating and physical activity. Weekly sessions incorporate fun, educational games and activities to learn about good nutrition, goal setting, hands-on snack preparation, and taste testing. RSVP volunteers have an opportunity to participate in facilitating this fun program for youth ages 5-12.
Tutoring and Child Literacy
RSVP matches volunteers with children wishing to develop their reading skills. Acting as tutors, volunteers engage at-risk youth in individual tutoring sessions in schools.
Food Pantry Services
Volunteering commitments include picking up and delivering food at various volunteer stations, packaging and serving meals, and addressing food insecurity in Summit and Medina counties.
Meals on Wheels
RSVP Volunteers assist in preparing, packaging, and delivering meals to homebound seniors and disabled individuals to support their nutritional needs, provide a wellness check, and address social isolation.
At VANTAGE, our goal is to provide wrap-around services to our clients to be sure they are receiving all of the services they need. Becoming a client in one program will also provide you with access to other services that will support your desire to age in place. These may include Meals on Wheels, non-medical care from Home Wellness Solutions, paid, on-the-job training from Workforce Solutions, and counseling from our Behavioral Health Solutions team.
